I finally said to Arjuna - the one who is responsible for all my Joss Whedony love, and was such a huge part of my Sondheim intro - that if he didn't read HP soon I would shoot him. He's finally past book three. This death threat thing? Works.
(Little kids who came here from TLC: kidding about the death thing. Don't try that at home, please.)

In many cases of perceived plagerism, it just means that the two authors grew up with many of the same cultural influences. For example, the Weasley's Ford Angela being pattern off of both Christine and Herbie (the original Love Bug). We do not know yet if Harry was named in honour of a Henry or a Harold. For that matter whether Bill is short for William of Bilius, or Fred is short for Fredrick or Wilfred, or Alfred or Fredwulf etc.
BTW- You do realise that JKR said in her interview that she had always meant for Harry and Ginny to get together *and then part.*
This is my personal journal. Comments about Leaky or HP should be directed to www.the-leaky-cauldron.org. And yes, I am aware of every thing that JKR said in the interview, and no, I have no idea what point you're trying to make or how it changes anything.
Thanks for your consideration.
Regarding the death threat thing ...
It's always been a great source of annoyance to me when any of my old aunts elbows me and says "You're next" during wedding ceremonies.
When we attended a funeral, I elbowed one of them and said "You're next".
That made them stop nagging me.
So, it may or may not work. :-)
