I'm listening to the podcast now. I had no idea you were a Renthead! Not to mention one of the biggest Rentheads on earth. I was looking at Anthony Rapp's book and I saw Melissa Anelli on the thank you list... I did a tripple take.... I thought that there must be someone else name Melissa Anelli... but I guess I was wrong... it is you.
Makes you a thousand and fifteen times more awesome then you already are... you're PROBABLY the person who I am most jealous of... you've met JKR and Anthony Rapp... and WOW... lucky ducky... it must be amazing!

that was awesome! i really just got into RENT because of some friends and partly my uncle, but my experience with it was so different and it was really great to hear about what RENT was like and the effect it when it was first on broadway.
So cool to see you're a Rent fan, i just got into the fandom though for some reason i knew all the songs before i saw the play or movie.
but I just wanted to share that Anthony Rapp will be speaking at University (Florida State) in april and i am beyond excited to hear him speak.
I listened to the show, and must say...awsome! You and Joey did a great job. RENT is my seconed obsession...Potter being my first. I am what you and Joey called on the show a "newbe". I just got into RENT, and I really love it! While listening to the Podcast, I agreeed with Joey on alot of things. I have'nt seen the show, but I have be active on the online community. Also, my obsession over RENT is private..I am going to enjoy every moment of it only with my RENT friends. What really struck me waws when Joey talked about having split personalities. I can relate. My Potter obsession is'nt really private...everyone knows I am an obessesive fan, but my RENT obsession is private. Nobody, except my RENT friends know I like RENT. I'm going to keep it that way, because I treasure RENT, and I don't want to ruin this experience by having somone stomping down my back and saying that having an obsession with RENT is wrong. So, like Joey, I have my normal side that everybody knows, and I have my RENT side.
Melissa, I hope you had fun recording this podcast, and must say that you are really a lucky person. You are great example of...I'm going to say it...No Day But Today!
That was such an amazing interview. I'm a new fan of RENT and I'm going to see it for the first time in April. That interview gave me so much insight into everything...it was fantastic. Unfortuantely, in 1996 i was 7, but I'm still glad that I can experience it now. So thanks a ton, i thought it was great :)

I enjoyed listening to you and Joey on the podcast. I hit the RENT bandwagon very early on, though most of my experience was out of town also and only had the opportunity to see it on Broadway a handful of times. That was a wonderful time of my life and I felt like I got to relive part of it during that 40 minute podcast. It is hard to believe that was really 10 years ago. I can't possibly be that old.
I had no clue you were a renthead, I listen to pottercast and mugglecast and have heard you on both, and was shocked when I was hearing the same voice on the RENT podcast. You're definitely making the podcast rounds!
Anyway, thanks so much for sharing your experiences. It was really an enjoyable podcast!

RENT is amazing im fairly to it though but i loved the podcast it is so amazing how shows/books/movies can speak so much to so many people in so many different ways(I keep saying so)...

I also love how you were able to switch and become a writer because you realized thats what you loved...very cool...

What I find amazing is how many folks like so many of the same things. While I am a bit older the Melissa (36) we share many of the same interests and obsessions. Rent, Harry Potter, Lost, the West Wing (boo hoo). But I have to say this not unusual. I find from surfing the web that folks who like Lost, like the West Wing as well and that folks who like Rent like Harry Potter...so on and so forth. Is it that these shows or books speak to us on a personal level, and are about people or ideals we would like to have in our lives, or is it simply a love of high quality entertainment?
To me I think it is the former. There is a line in one of my favorite movies, “Joe vs. The Volcano” (which most people do not get) in which Meg Ryan's character says that most people in the world are not truly awake, but those who are live in a constant state of amazement (paraphrasing here). This is how I feel and it is nice to find others who seem to get it as well.
Anyway I am bantering on. Just wanted to say that I enjoyed the Rent podcasts (need to subscribe to them) as well as your work on the Potter pod casts. Keep up the good work and keep on believing.

Hello Melissa! Just a fan from Pottercast.Wanted to say... I FELT THE SAME FEAR as you did when I did my first( and last) interview. It was for yearbook class and happened a less than a month ago. I contacted a few people and got ahold of a Marine that I could interview. When he came I dropped my clipboard, stuttered like crazy, almost fell out of my chair, and stuttered some more. Thought that was a funny experiance to share with you. =)

Basically because I am a loser and totally behind the times of my Theatre department and the rest of the world, I FINALLY saw "Rent" on Friday and fell in hardcore LOVE with the movie. Since Friday, I have obsessively watched the movie about 7 times and am listening to the sdtk right now. I just cannot believe I haven't made time to see this amazing movie before. And I am insanely jealous Melissa that you know Anthony Rapp. And my department would be insanely jealous too. This musical has taken the department by storm.
I'm off to download the podcast. Melissa, you are officially the coolest person in the world. You have the BEST obsessions. This just might make you better than the MN boys. No matter how hot I think they are.
