It was said to me multiple times this weekend, to my raucous approval, that given the opportunity, my mother would totally pull a Mrs. Weasley-meets-Bellatrix moment. "NOT MY DAUGHTER, YOU BITCH!"* indeed. It's a total appreciate-my-mother-moment, which is necessary, as being on this tour meant that I had to miss her birthday**. I get to see her for more than an hour, tomorrow. And I can't wait.

I'll explain what happened to you tomorrow, ma.

I missed my father's, too, as well as a major dinner at which he was honored - but as Deathly Hallows is a big appreciate-your-mama fiesta, I focused on her here. But my parents were equally gracious.

That is one of my favorite moments of the book! There was something completely honest and moving about her reaction and as the reader you are reminded about the self-sacrificing love of a parent.

P.S. Cannot wait to read your review of DH or listen to it on PotterCast!

Absolutely! Mamma power all the way! Oh, and happy belated birthday to Ma and Pa Anelli!

I loved that moment. I cannot wait to see it in the movie.

If your Mom is anything like my Mom her birthday was made better just knowing you were out there happy doing something you love so much. Moms ROCK!

I agree with the spoiler editorial you posted on Leaky 1000%! I agree with your comments on the book. I think it was three times darker than all the others put together. I began to get the feeling of what it must have been like to be Jewish in Germany was Hitler was coming to power.

You have no idea how lucky you are to feel the way you do about your parents. Let them know that with your presence as much as you can while they are here.

I love that Mrs. Weasley moment. I also love how the strongest "swearword" used in the books is said by Molly.

Just wondering, is Leaky down, because my rss feeds aren't working and I can't load Leaky or the Pottercast page.

I honestly jumped out of my seat when she says that! The mom in me was screaming "Kick her ass, Molly!" Whoop!

I laughed in the car when I read that. It was just so funny and perfect!

And "YAY!" Mama power! w00t w00t! =]

I loved what you wrote about the spoilers at the beginning. haha.

I love your spoiler warning! This was one of best moments of the book! Maternal instinct! Yea for mothers! You go Molly! I can just see this moment in the film. Tha audience will cheer wildly!

It was a great moment in the story that's for sure.

"Pushed too far but still in complete control of her faculties" type of crazy :)

i love that! Moms can always get away with anything. i think its law.

Melissa, i am seeing you everywhere! On Nightline with Cheryl, on my msn.com morning page....i love it!! Always makes me smile to see someone who truly cares about the books in the media.

Can't wait to hear your reactions to the books! I, for one, am very, very happy with it.
Cheers!

That was one of my favorite moments in the book. And after leaving out The Woe's of Mrs. Weasley, I hope Julie Walters fights tooth and nail to keep this in movie 7.

In my opinion, WB should pull out all the stops for the last one, but I guess we get to wait and see.

I loved that part as well, it suits her.
But wen I read the part "and suddenly, Harry knew what was going to happen before it did" I got real worried for Molly.

Leave it to Jo to find a way to kill Bella in a way that we accepted-even cheered for, & yet didn't involve having a child kill an adult.

As a Mom, I know I would have acted just like Molly & I cheered knowing that we didn't have to watch Neville do it...

There is no love deeper and no rage more blinding and powerful than that of a mother whose child is being threatened. It's very therapeutic to experience Molly's protection and revenge fully unloaded on a true target. Also, it echoes the mother/child theme in the series, when the mother's protective love made such an impact on the child's life. (Lily/Harry, Merope/Tom, Narcissa/Draco, Petunia/Dudley.) Tom Riddle valued the connection with his Mom the least and went on to become the lowest personality.

Nothing can or will beat the Mrs. Weasley - Bellatrix moment! Ever. I was a little scared for Molly, but nothing can stop a mother sticking up for her daughter.

Happy birthday to mom Anelli and dad Anelli!

Well, Melissa...I think that you are HOPEFULLY getting a well deserved breather. Speaking as a fan of what you've done for the fandom, thank you for your incredible work this summer...bringing Potter pandemonium to fever pitch on 2 continents!! So, please thank your family for sacrificing these special moments and sharing their amazing daughter with all of us.

Can't wait to see you in Toronto and dish all things DH!! ZOMG! Molly...*fans self* Bella so got what she deserved. Don't eff with the mama bear!
