And major props to the reporter for reminding us that Prez HW Bush once derisively called Gore "Ozone man." As if the lack of respect he and his offspring have for the environment isn't lamentable enough, our "leaders" take childish pot shots at a serious and potentially critical disaster, and it takes 15 years and a NOBEL PRIZE to make it obvious what a bushleague tactic it was.
Anyway. Yay!

Here, here! I always liked Al Gore, and I'm really glad that his work earned him this wonderful form of recognition.
And, as for our wonderful commander-in-chief... he doesn't have any respect for anything: this country, the people in this country, the rest of the world, so why would he care at all about the environment. I mean, he even offers (or did offer) tax breaks for people who bought those gas-guzzling Hummers and other similar vehicles! Well, obviously, I don't need to explain any more about him because you totally understand...
Have a great weekend! :-)
Yes! I completely agree, Melissa! I'm afriad I would sound like an idiot if I expressed more of my views right now, since I just woke up, but I agree!
I respectfully disagree with the "yay"
Yes, what Gore is doing is wonderful, but one thing you don't mention at all is what prize he won. He won the Nobel PEACE prize.
I think the Nobel comettee is defining the term rather losely by giving the prize to Gore in this case. To me the Nobel peace prize has been a way to promote the work of those who work for peace in the world, and though Gore's work is important, I do not think he is the person in the world who has made the largest effort to make the world a more peaceful place.
